If you have a question about your information, or you want to use one of your rights, contact us on the email or phone number above. Please put “Privacy” in the subject line of an email.
Information we collect
Contact form. If you send the form on our contact page, we collect your name, email address and message.
Bookings and enquiries. If you call, email or message us to book a table or ask about a visit, we keep the details you give us. That can include your name, phone number, email address, the date and size of the booking, and anything you tell us about the occasion. If you mention an allergy or another health detail so we can prepare your visit, we use that only for that visit and we treat it as sensitive information. Please do not send medical records through the contact form.
Website logs. Our host records technical information when you load a page, such as your IP address, browser type, the page you requested and the time of the request. We use this to keep the site secure and to fix faults.
Cookies. We store a cookie that remembers whether you accepted or rejected optional cookies. Staff login cookies are only set when someone signs in to manage the site. The cookie policy lists each cookie.
Social feeds. The homepage can show an Instagram feed. The photos are requested from our own website, and the feed script does not run until you allow marketing cookies. If you follow a link to Instagram or another social network, that site’s own policy applies.
How we use information, and why
- To reply to a message or booking request. The lawful basis is our legitimate interest in answering people who contact the pub, or steps taken before a booking is agreed.
- To run a reservation you have asked for. The lawful basis is the booking itself, or our legitimate interest in managing the diary.
- To keep the website secure and remember your cookie choice. The lawful basis is our legitimate interest in running a safe site. The cookie that stores your choice is strictly necessary.
- To show the Instagram feed and similar optional content. The lawful basis is your consent. You can refuse, and the rest of the site still works.
We do not sell personal information. We do not send marketing emails unless you have asked us to. We do not use Google Analytics on this site at the moment.
Who we share information with
- Our website host, which processes server logs so the site can be delivered and protected.
- Google, because our pub inbox is a Gmail address. Messages you send us are stored in that inbox so we can reply.
- Instagram (Meta), only if you allow marketing cookies and the feed script runs, or if you choose to open Instagram yourself.
We do not share your details with other pubs, advertisers or data brokers. We will share information if the law requires it, for example a lawful request from the police or a regulator.
Google and Meta can process information outside the United Kingdom. Where that happens, we rely on the UK adequacy regulations or on the provider’s standard contractual clauses, where those apply.
How long we keep it
- Contact-form messages and enquiry emails: up to 24 months, then we delete them unless we still need them for a booking, a complaint or a legal claim.
- Booking details: up to 12 months after the visit.
- Allergy or other health details given for a booking: for as long as we need them to provide that visit, and not kept in a separate marketing list.
- Your cookie choice: 6 months, then we ask again.
- Server logs: usually no longer than 90 days, unless we need them to investigate abuse.
Your rights
You can ask us to:
- give you a copy of the personal information we hold about you
- correct information that is wrong
- delete information, in the cases the law allows
- limit how we use it, or object to our use of it where we rely on legitimate interests
- give you information you provided, in a portable format, where the law gives that right
- withdraw cookie consent at any time, using Cookie settings at the bottom of any page
We do not use automated decision-making that produces legal effects about you.
You can also complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office, Wycliffe House, Water Lane, Wilmslow, Cheshire, SK9 5AF. Telephone 0303 123 1113. Website ico.org.uk/make-a-complaint. We would like the chance to put things right first.
Children
This website is aimed at adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children through the site. If you believe a child has sent us information, contact us and we will delete it.
